NFL
Ball Don't Lie (BDL)
balldontlie.io
Live scores/schedule, teams, standings, team stats, box scores, player game logs, team rosters, current player injury designations, and — on the Matchup Comparison page specifically — starting-QB stat lines and advanced passing/rushing/receiving metrics (aDOT, CPOE, time-to-throw, rush yards over expected, aggressiveness). Used throughout the entire NFL section — GOAT tier commercial license.
nflverse
nflverse-data (GitHub releases)
Play-by-play-derived EPA/play, success rate, PROE (pass rate over expected), pace, red-zone efficiency, pass-depth splits, pressure/run-stuff rates, explosive-play rate, drive-level efficiency (three-and-out/scoring-drive/estimated points-per-drive), Net EPA/play, interception and fumble-lost rates, and rolling Last-3/Last-5 game windows of all of the above, on the NFL Matchup Comparison page. Sureda Team Strength is an in-house, opponent-adjusted EPA rating with exponentially greater weight on recent games; its points-vs-average display is provisional until walk-forward calibration is complete. Released under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) — free, public, and explicitly intended for redistribution with attribution.
SuredaAnalytics Run-Block Index & O-Line Rating
In-house composite methodology
Two metrics computed entirely in-house from the licensed nflverse play-by-play data above — not PFF, Sumer, or any third-party pass-block/run-block win rate or grade (no charted offensive-line data is licensed for this site). Run-Block Index is a transparent per-carry credit scheme (full credit for a run's first 4 yards, half credit for yards 5-10, minimal credit beyond, isolating blocking-attributable yardage from open-field back talent). O-Line Rating blends the Run-Block Index rank with the pressure-rate-allowed rank into one ordinal, published only under the "SuredaAnalytics" name on the Matchup Comparison page's Trenches scorecard.
FTN Data (via nflverse)
ftndata.com · distributed via nflverse-data
Man/zone coverage rates and QB-vs-coverage-shell splits on the NFL Matchup Comparison page, from FTN's manual play charting. Released under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0); refreshed annually after each season fully completes. In keeping with the ShareAlike term, the specific derived coverage-rate and QB-vs-coverage-shell figures displayed on the Matchup Comparison page are themselves made available under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license — attribute re-use to "FTN Data via nflverse."
The Odds API
the-odds-api.com
NFL player prop betting lines used on the Player Props page.
Scores & General Sports Data
ESPN
site.api.espn.com · sports.core.api.espn.com
Live scores, standings, team schedules, and game summaries for college football only. NFL, NBA, and MLB scores, standings, box scores, and schedules are sourced from BallDontLie under commercial license, not ESPN's API. Team identity graphics across NFL/MLB/NBA are self-hosted badges (see Media & Images below), not ESPN CDN logos.
Weather & Environment
Open-Meteo
api.open-meteo.com
Ballpark weather forecasts including temperature and wind speed/direction used in batter analysis and park context, and current conditions (temperature, wind, precipitation) at the home team's stadium on the NFL Matchup Comparison page's weather card — indoor/fixed-roof stadiums are excluded from the live fetch and labeled "no weather impact" instead. Open-Meteo is a free, open-source weather API (open-meteo.com).
wttr.in
wttr.in
Current ballpark weather data (temperature, wind speed/direction) used in the pitcher analysis model to compute park weather factors. Provided by the open-source wttr.in project.
Media & Images
Wikimedia Commons / Wikipedia
commons.wikimedia.org · upload.wikimedia.org · en.wikipedia.org
MLB, NBA, and tennis player headshots, plus some ballpark images, are sourced from the public Wikipedia REST API and Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons / free-reuse licenses that explicitly permit commercial reuse with attribution. This is our only photographic headshot source for MLB and NBA players; individual image attributions are available in the repository's ATTRIBUTION.txt file.
Placeholder icon (self-hosted)
/static/images/headshot_placeholder.svg
Players without a cached Wikipedia photo (e.g. a recent call-up or two-way roster move) show a generic silhouette icon we designed and host ourselves, rather than a photo from any third-party CDN.
Self-hosted team badges (in-house)
/static/images/team_badges/
Team "logos" shown across MLB, NBA, and NFL pages are self-hosted text-based identity graphics — dark team-colored cards with each team's abbreviation, name, and original illustrative background — not the actual trademarked crest artwork. Nothing on this site hotlinks a third-party CDN's team-logo image files. Team names, colors, and abbreviations are used solely to identify the real teams they refer to; SuredaAnalytics is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NFL, the NBA, MLB, or any team or league.
Flag CDN
flagcdn.com
Country flag images for tennis player nationalities are provided by flagcdn.com, a free open-source flag image service.
